Wrexham certainly made things difficult for a young Seagulls side in their 3rd Round FA Cup tie at the weekend and in the end were good value for their replay back at the Racecourse Ground next week.
Seagulls boss Gus Poyet will still be confident of reaching the 4th round and are 7/5 to finish the job back in North Wales. The prospect of hosting Premier League giants Newcastle United in the 4th Round is surely enough incentive.
The Seagulls are a massive 250/1 to win the competition with BetVictor or 125s to make it to the final.
Brighton’s last Championship match was a vital 3-0 victory over league leaders Southampton and Albion will be looking to follow up against a Bristol City side who have improved since manager Derek McInnes took over the reigns, although they were dumped out of the FA Cup at the 3rd round stage for the fifth year in a row by Division 2 pace-setters Crawley Town last weekend.
City’s last five games have produced a total of four goals so with Brighton less than prolific, despite the trio against Saints, the two goals or less at 7/10 has already been popular. The Championship is a fascinating division and Poyet will be well aware that another run similar to the start of the season would see Albion back in the promotion hunt especially as they remain only four points off of sixth place; 25/1 to be promoted tempting?
Brighton grabbed all three points when the two sides met at Ashton Gate back in September, a late Ashley Barnes proving the difference that day. A repeat result for the Seagulls is 11/2 on Saturday.
It won’t be easy of course with City having pulled themselves out of the drop zone in recent weeks; we bet 6/5 for a Seagulls victory, 23/10 the draw and 12/5 the Robins.
There are a number of football specials available for the weekend fixtures. The Brighton v Bristol City game is 10/1 to be the highest scoring Championship match and the statisticians will tell you it should be double that price!
After a thumping 5-1 win last week in their FA Cup banana skin tie away at non-league Fleetwood, fellow seaside town Blackpool 6/4 to win away at Ipswich is our tip of the week. Ipswich were well beaten by Nottingham Forest at Portman Road in their last Championship fixture and Blackpool can put more pressure on Paul Jewell.
As you may have noticed we have changed identity from Victor Chandler to BetVictor this week and have a new fresh and easier to navigate website at betvictor.com. Hope you enjoy.
