Hailsham Town secured second place in Sussex County Two on Saturday with a 3-0 win away at Rustington.
Prolific strike duo Shane Saunders and Danny Leach bagged a goal apiece, whilst young Ryan Cavalier also netted in the second half as Hailsham earned their 23rd win of the league season.
The Reserves, meanwhile, completed their season with a 3-1 home defeat to Eastbourne Town, a result which saw Town crowned Reserve Section (Premier) Champions. Marcus Whiteman scored for Hailsham, who also gave a run-out to Ashley Jarvis as he makes his comeback from injury.
The Stringers are off to third-placed Dorking Wanderers on Saturday in the final match of the season.
The first of the pre-season friendlies meanwhile have been announced: Colliers Wood United, of the Combined Counties League, visit The Beaconsfield on Saturday July 21, with a first team game followed by a reserve team clash.
Town’s opposition the week after also come from Surrey. Molve Valley SCR will be coming down again – again in a First and Reserve team double header – after a very enjoyable day last summer, with those games to be played on Saturday July 28.
