STEYNING Town Community Football Club has joined an elite group of just 125 clubs across the country to become a Nike Partner Club.
The Shooting Field club has signed a three-year deal with Nike and Premier Sports, which will see all 16 of the club’s teams use Nike kit, while the world-renowned company has committed to investing more than £1,200 in coaching at the club.
The deal means Steyning are the first club in Sussex to sign-up with Nike and it comes as a result of their Charter Standard Community Club status.
Town chairman Carol Swain said: “We are delighted to have secured a relationship with Nike and the support that Nike is providing to the club will help us improve and develop our coaches for the benefit of our players and the local community.”
Sussex County FA county development manager Kevin Tharme said: “We are excited that Steyning Town Community FC has been selected to become the first Nike Partner Club in Sussex to benefit from this arrangement, which is available to only a limited number of Charter Standard Community Clubs across the country.
“Nike and their local suppliers Premier Sports and Leisure will provide kit and equipment under the programme and the Sussex County FA will work with the club to identify appropriate coach education and development events for their volunteer workforce.”
