ROTTINGDEAN were in command of the game at 148-3 but lost the last seven wickets for the addition of just 27 more runs in eight overs, allowing Heathfield to win in the penultimate over

This represented a good fight back by Heathfield, who were asked to bat first and made 201-8 declared in two balls short of 50 overs. Will Robertson scored 69 and Terry Penfold 45, while Sam Shepherd took 3-47 and Steve Johnson 2-79.

Rottingdean, in reply, started well, with opener Ryan Perry getting 65 and middle order batters Richard Woodley and Chris Osborne scoring 42 and 31 respectively. But they were all out in 41.4 overs.

OTHER RESULTS: Isfield 147-7 (50 ovs; Paul Saunders 61; Richard Abson-Bennett 2-32) lost by 6 wickets away to East Dean & Friston 148-4 (38.5 ovs; Neil Gamble 58*; James Fellows 2-50). Firle 222-9 dec (48 ovs; Extras 31; Tom Welsh 4-38) won by 160 runs at home to Ringmer 2nd XI 62 (42 ovs; Matt Hart 11; Michael Williams 4-27, Andy Bird 3-5 off eight overs). Wadhurst 218 (49.2 ovs; Andy Taylor 80, Nick Holland 55; Cameron Olsen 4-48, Matt Woodward 4-31) drew away at Forest Row 125-5 (43 ovs; Daniel Gardner 52, Craig Sargent 52; Andy Taylor 3-13 off 15 overs). Little Common Ramblers 260-2 dec (49 overs; Peter Eames 142*, Adam Wickens 45, Berwick Smith 49*; Chris Jones 1-46) lost by 5 wickets at home to Eastbourne 3rd XI 261-5 (44 ovs; Siraj Mashood 58, Darren Cumming 89*, David Plowman 2-90).
