Lewes have unveiled Garry Wilson as their new first team manager.
Moments ago the Rooks announced: “Lewes Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Garry Wilson as the Club’s new First Team Manager.
“He will be joined by Danny Bloor who has stepped down as Eastbourne Town boss, and Matt Crabb, who will combine playing with a coaching role within the new management structure. In addition, a Head Coach is to be appointed early next week.”
The Rooks added: “Garry’s reputation in non-league football owes much to his incredible 12-year spell at Eastbourne Borough where he orchestrated the club’s rise from County League to Blue Square Premier.”
The genial Scot said: “I am thrilled to be joining such a progressive club. It’s going to be an exciting challenge and one we are all looking forward to. I’ve been mightily impressed with all I’ve seen and heard at the Dripping Pan and Danny and I cannot wait to get started.
“Initially, we are wanting to improve the league results markedly and we want people to have a smile on their faces when they come to work.
“With such superb facilities and a large and pro-active fan base, we are confident good things can be achieved here.
“I’m particularly pleased that Danny Bloor has joined me at Lewes FC and I know we will do all we can to ensure the traditions and history of this great club are maintained at the very highest levels.”
Lewes FC Chairman, Terry Parris added, “We are delighted to have secured the services of Garry Wilson. Most people in Sussex football will know about his history, his record and his integrity.
“He is a great fit for us at this time and, with Danny, we feel we have the right management team to take the Lewes FC ‘on-field’ set up forward. I think there are exciting times ahead for our football club.”
The club is organising a ‘Meet The Manager’ session in June.
