Lewes 2-0 Weston-Super-Mare
TWO JOE Keehan penalties made it one down and two to go in Lewes' most important week of the season so far.
Both strikes came in the first half against a poor Weston-Super-Mare side who are struggling at the same end of the table as The Rooks.
Arron Hopkinson struck a good chance wide before the first penalty on ten minutes. David Wheeler was caught in the box by Callum Hart and from 12 yards Keehan sent Kevin Sawyer the wrong way.
The same man made it 2-0 from the spot ten minutes later. Wheeler - a constant menace down the right all afternoon - beat two players, found Jean-Michel Sigere in the area, he flicked it beyond Clayton Fortune who stuck out a hand and ref Mr Cook again pointed to the spot.
Midfielder Keehan's second was a carbon copy of the first and the hosts were cruising.
The second half saw fewer chances although Sigere should have made it 3-0 from Wheeler's cross but got his cheeky flick wrong and Lewes were denied a third penalty when Kane Louis appeared to have been felled inside the area.
The visitors offered very little threat all afternoon and the result moves Lewes four points clear of them in the Blue Square South, although still in the bottom three.
Steve Ibbitson's Lewes travel to fellow strugglers Dorchester on Tuesday night before going to bottom side Weymouth next Saturday.
