Lewes demolish Dover 6-2

LEWES produced a major shock to come from two goals down to demolish second-placed Dover Athletic 6-2 and lift out of the bottom three for the first time since August.

The stunning result - inspired by a Joe Keehan hat-trick - made it back-to-back wins for first time this season to pull off the shock result on Boxing day.

The hosts went behind after just two minutes when Jame Rogers found the net and Frannie Collin doubled Dover's lead on 13 minutes.

Lewes needed a moment of brilliance to get themselves back in the game and that moment arrived when Keehan's stunning volley flew past John Whitehouse in the visiting goal.

From there Dover fell apart and Steve Ibbitson's men capitalised. Steven Brinkhurst equalised from distance and it was from the winger's cross that saw Lewes take the lead, Ollie Schulz turning into his own net.

Keehan scored a quick double on the hour to complete his hat-trick and the hosts continued to pile more misery on their guests when David Wheeler turned in a sixth late on to send the Dripping Pan faithful into rapture.

The Rooks travel to Thurrock on Monday buoyed by two home wins before facing Dover again on New Year's Day.
