Eastbourne’s Johanna Konta will take on world No.34 Zarina Diyas (KAZ) in the first round at the Aegon International Eastbourne.
Her fellow wildcards Naomi Broady and Harriet Dart both also face tough first round assignments, Broady facing Sloane Stephens (USA) and Dart taking on Dominika Cibulkova (SVK).
The forty-first staging of the Aegon International Eastbourne features five former champions: reigning champion Madison Keys, Ekaterina Makarova (2010), Caroline Wozniacki (2009), Agnieszka Radwanska (2008) – who, as seeds, will all receive byes into the second round - and Svetlana Kuznetsova (2004) who has drawn a qualifier.
Saturday’s draw revealed some exciting first round match-ups including Alison Riske (USA) vs Alize Cornet (FRA) and Caroline Garcia (FRA) vs Roberta Vinci (ITA), as well as some tantalising projected quarterfinal match-ups between Keys and Eugenie Bouchard (CAN), Sam Stosur (AUS) and Lucie Safarova (CZE) and Wozniacki and Angelique Kerber (GER).
Meanwhile, in the doubles event, tournament top seeds Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza take on Michaella Krajicek and Karolina Pliskova, No.2 seeds Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina face wildcard pairing Eugenie Bouchard and Marina Erakovic, while fellow wildcard pairing Petra Kvitova and Caroline Wozniacki face Cara Black and Lisa Raymond.
