Six swimmers from Hailsham Swimming Club competed in the Black Lion Open Meet in Aldershot.

They collectively came away with twelve top eight places and many improved race times.

Fantastic swims by ten year old Frankie Lee gained him gold trophies in the 200m Individual Medley and 100m Butterfly. A brilliant Butterfly race saw him further improve his race time to be comfortably within regional level qualification.

Tom Barden had a successful weekend of racing, swimming personal best times in all of the events he entered, in the eleven year old age group. A very impressive swim in the 200m Backstroke event, secured him the silver, in what was an extremely close finish. Tom also achieved fifth place in the 50m Butterfly.

Maezie Lane (11) found her form in the 50m Backstroke event. A determined sprint earned her the bronze, in a great race time of 40.19 seconds. Maezie accomplished fifth place finishes in the 100m and 50m Breaststroke events and sixth place in the 100m Backstroke. Macy Ring, also 11, fought hard for her fourth place ranking in the 50m Freestyle sprint.

Congratulations to Amelia Evershed (13) on coming 4th in 50m Backstroke and 7th in 50m Breaststroke, and to Sasha Goldsmith (11) on her eighth place finish in the 50m Backstroke.
