Diary of a Dart Player with Andy Relf – week two of new superleague and another trip to Wigan

Week two of the new Superleague season last week saw our Lewes side head down to Rileys in Brighton for a match against some of my old team mates.

This was going to be a tough match on paper, and in fairness the end result flattered us.

We ran out with a fantastic 7-2 win, but we did ride our luck... me being one that did just that.

This week sees us at home at the Tally Ho against the Eastbourne Nuthouse.

This Friday sees the climax to the Heathfield League with the finals and presentation night at the Cross in Hand.

Our team from The Wheel has won the league, and we hope to add to that haul by the end of the evening.

Myself and Tony Cox are contesting the pairs competition, and I have a play off for the 180 trophy I believe.

The league are looking for new teams to join the league for the next season.

So if there are any pubs within about a five mile radius of Heathfield that fancy putting a team in for next season on a Friday night throughout the winter, send me a message.

You can email at andy@amrsport.wanadoo.co.uk and I’ll pass the details to the league organisers.

It would give a pub around 20 extra people in the bar on a Friday, and all you need is a dartboard and some players.

Once finals night is over, I have a very early start on Saturday for yet another journey to Wigan.

The 5.11 train from Polegate gets me to Wigan for 9.25 where I’m hoping that Mr Pipe and Mr Anderson will be waiting to pick me up to act as taxi to the venue.

So far in 2013 I have won just under 42 per cent of my matches in the PDC.

That isn’t too bad a record for me, but I still need to improve quite significantly in order to progress further.

Hopefully that begins this weekend.
