Nick Dwyer made a welcome return to racing after a prolonged injury when he competed in the Epsom CC Ten mile time trial.

Nick made light of his long layoff and proved he is well on the road to recovery by posting a fast 21:04 time. Phil Allen notched up a rapid time of 20:46 with Conal Yates of In-Gear claiming top spot with a time of 20:06.

Four Lewes Wanderers took part in the SCA 50 time trial over the tough course around Dial Post. The ride features some tough leg sapping climbs with the rolling nature of the course making a consistent tempo hard to maintain. Sam Ramsey was the first Wanderer home with a good time of 2:06:56.Tamar Vanderhaas had a storming ride and her time of 2:14:22 was not only fast enough to place as her as first Lady but in the process smashed the Ladies’ event record over this testing course. Other Lewes times were Alan Lloyd 2:15:01 and Oliver Tuckley 2:15:47. Steve Kane of Brighton Excelsior completed a clean sweep of the SCA long distance events winning in a time of 1:52:07.

Last Monday marked the final ride in the club’s ten mile series with the running of the two-up event. Father and son pairing Peter and Tom Baker emerged as top dogs on the day posting a time of 22:30.
