The haul comprised of one gold, one silver and four bronze medals, making this a very successful day for the young competitors. Juno Butler-Cole, looking to follow in Ellie’s footsteps, lost out in the final to a fine counter attack but brought home a silver medal and memories of some excellent victories.

Jocelyn Kearley, Max Butler-Cole, Daniel Salter and Joseph Jauncey-Moore all brought home bronze medals for their efforts. Max managed two good wins showing lots of promise for the future, whilst Jocelyn and Daniel both gained plenty of experience in preparation for the next event. Joseph met older, stronger opponents but gave a good account of himself.

He did clock up one convincing victory and earned the Spirit of Judo Award for his positive attitude and commitment.
