Golf star Ben Evans continued his fine form with another lofty finish on the European Tour.
The Staplecross-based professional came tied 15th in the Open de Espana last weekend and moved up to 106th in the season-long Race to Dubai standings.
Evans completed the 72-hole event at Real Club de Golf El Prat near Barcelona in a two-under-par total of 286 - one better than world number seven and home favourite Sergio Garcia.
The 28-year-old began with a one-over-par 73 containing three birdies and four bogeys. He followed that with another 73 on day two, again featuring three birdies - two of which were in his last three holes - to make the cut by two shots as the wind picked up during the afternoon.
Evans moved into the top 25 courtesy of a third round 71. He made two birdies and eight pars in the first 10 holes, and although three bogeys followed in the next four, Evans finished with two birdies in the last four.
Scoring improved on the final day and Evans began well with two birdies in his first four holes. Two more gains followed at the 10th and 11th before a solitary bogey at the 14th meant he signed for a 69 and just missed out on a top 10 finish.
Evans, of Rye and Sedlescombe Golf Clubs, has made the cut in his last seven tournaments on the European Tour and second tier European Challenge Tour, achieving four top 15 finishes along the way.
