The Motionsport BRDC Formula 4 team has this week announced Prestwood’s Ross Gunnas one of its two drivers for the championship season.
Gunn, 16, a Year 11 pupil at The Misborne School, has been competing in karts since he was eight years old, rising to prominence by winning the British Super One MiniMax Championship in his first season in the series (2011), as well as the prestigious British Kart Grand Prix in the same year.
The teen racer followed that up last year by securing the British Super One Junior Rotax Championship – the first time that the MiniMax and Junior Rotax Championships have been won in consecutive years by a rookie.
“I’m looking forward to driving in the BRDC Formula 4 championship,” he said.
“It quickly became a very attractive option to compete in F4, and the quality and depth of the drivers competing in the championship was just one of the reasons why I joined.”
