Hailsham took revenge for their 9-1 drubbing earlier in the season, defeating Southwick 1s 3-1 at home on Saturday.
The game started off evenly, with neither team’s spirits dampened by the torrential wind and rain.
Hailsham skipper Lee “Roi” Humber broke the deadlock with a rocket short corner strike into the bottom right hand corner of the Wick goal.
A great run with the ball by Alex Smith then set Lloyd Williams up for the second goal of the game. Southwick managed to claw a goal back, scoring from a penalty flick in the second half, but that didn’t stop the confident Hailsham team, with a well worked short corner seeing Tristan Pengilley slip the ball into the back of Southwick goal for Hailsham’s third. A great result and a massive confidence boost for the team for the rest of the season.
