TV star from the Banger Boys series, Phil Hampton, announced his return to top form, with an impressive rare hat-trick of wins in the 2 litre stocks cars, at Spedeworth’s meeting on Wednesday night.
Whilst maybe more known for his banger driving, Hampton has established himself as one of the country’s top drivers in this class.
Last season he was in his best form ever, when a freak accident to his wrist whilst driving a little Ford KA in the autumn’s Micro Madness meeting, took him away from racing for the winter.
During his period of recuperation, he may have had more time to spend with his young son Ryan, but Hampton was growing ever so frustrated at missing key meetings at the business end of the season.
With the doctor’s permission ringing in his ears, Hampton recently returned to racing his stock car with a couple of low key performances by his standards, as he felt his feet again around the oval raceways.
