Jack Bartholomew is currently competing in the Super One British Kart Championship in the Senior Rotax class.
In the first round at Rowrah, Cumbria,
Jack finished second in the final. In round two at Buckmore Park, Chatham, although being the quickest all weekend, due to an on-track incident, Jack only finished fifth in the final although this still gave him third in the Championship standings. Two weeks ago at Larkhall, Scotland, Jack had a clean sweep, winning all his heats and both finals. He is currently leading the British Championship which is a phenomenal achievement as he is only fifteen, racing against adults. The racing was filmed for television and will be shown on Motors TV on Monday 28th July at around 7 pm, under Super One Karting (Senior Rotax).
Further to his success in the British Championship, Jack has been invited to join the Young Racing Drivers Academy which is run by Arden Racing, based in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
Arden is owned by Christian Horner who is the principal of Red Bull, the Formula One team. This is a fantastic opportunity for Jack as Arden will guide his transition from kart racing into race cars.
He now has the opportunity to train on their racing simulators as well as spending time at St George’s Park in Burton-on-Trent, which is the best training facility in the UK, used by many top athletes as well as the England football team. They will also provide Jack with advice on nutrition, fitness, PR and sponsorship.
