Lewes enjoyed double success as they sailed through to the last eight of TWO Sussex-wide matchplay competitions on Saturday.
The scratch team swept aside the challenge of Cowdray Park in the third round of the Optimus Trophy, the premier Sussex inter-club knock-out competition, with a spanking 10-2 victory.
They will now entertain Haywards Heath in the quarter finals, to be played next month.
Meanwhile the handicap team, playing in the equivalent Exclusive Trophy, cleared their third round hurdle with a 4-1 win over Piltdown. They will go to Singing Hills for their quarter final match on the same day.
