Lewes failed to perform to the standard of which they are capable and gave a determined Woking side the three points.

Lewes deserved their 2-1 half time lead, with free play goals from Nicoli Parrington-Berski and Ole Callf.

But they started the second half in a confused fashion.

Woking soon took advantage to level the score and then go one up from a disputed penalty corner.

Lewes had two penalty corner opportunities to equalise but failed to stop the ball on both occasions to end an unsatisfactory afternoon.

Lewes Ladies 1st XI were confident of victory against bottom side Richmond in Ladies South Division 3B.

However, it wasn’t long into the first half before Richmond scored. Lewes fought back and levelled with an excellent deflection into the back of the net from Shaney Webb.

In the second half Lewes started to play more like a team and had several chances to score but none could be converted. PoM: Becky Axe.
