Lewes have signed central defender Callum Donaghey as cover for their injured captain, Steve Robinson.
The versatile 21-year-old joins the Rooks from Crawley Down Gatwick where, the Lewes FC website reports, he was “an integral member of their side since his switch from Three Bridges in September”.
The club website added: “(Rooks manager) Simon Wormull moved quickly to secure the services of Donaghey after club captain Steve Robinson suffered knee cartilage damage against Concord Rangers and has subsequently undergone surgery.
“The surgery was deemed a success and Robbo is expected to be missing for several months.”
Donaghey goes straight into the squad for today’s (Saturday) home game against Thurrock, which is subject to a morning pitch inspection. If the result of the inspection - which is expected to be announced at about 9.30am - is a positive one, then the game will kick off at the scheduled earlier time of 2pm.
Robinson is expected to be out for three months.
