Rugby also looks set to fall victim to the weather

Rugby clubs around the region also look set to fall victim to the heavy snowfall and deep freeze.

Heathfield and Waldron Rugby Club announced on their website that tomorrow would feature: “No home senior games, no home mini or junior games or training.

“In light of the current and predicted weather – both snowfall and temperature – we have taken the early decision to close the pitches for this weekend.

“Please take the opportunity to download the new Pitchero App – this will help you to remain in touch with the club’s news.”

But, on a brighter note, the club added: “The clubhouse remains open, warm and inviting!”

Lewes Rugby Club tweeted: “All home rugby matches cancelled this weekend. Enjoy the snow.”

And Seaford RFC tweeted: “Seaford vs Hove 3 tomorrow has been postponed due to a snowman building competition!!!!”

Haywards Heath 3rd XV vs Seaford 2nd XV was also postponed due to the snow.
