It turned out to be anything but a good Friday for the Eastbourne Lifestyle Eagles.
They suffered a heavy defeat in the afternoon at Lakeside.
In the return fixture in the evening, the Arlington club made a nightmare start – going 20-4 down after four races.
They gained some respectability after that, thanks to the double points tactical rule, but still lost 51-45.
With No1 rider Joonas Kylmakorpi injured, the Eagles were forced to use the rider replacement rule to cover his rides as every Elite League team was in action on Friday.
For rider replacement to work, the other team members need to be on a top of their game and at the moment the Eagles – Lewis Bridger apart – are not “on fire”.
