It is Monday night speedway for the Eastbourne Eagles again as they take on King’s Lynn at the Arlington Stadium in a match that is NOT being broadcast on TV.

Team manager Trevor Geer had the luxury of naming a full-strength team – I can’t remember the last time that happened.

Kim Nilsson is already racing again after his crash last Friday at Lakeside. Initial suggestions that he had broken his ankle were, thankfully, wrong.

Lukas Dryml is also back. He was injured some many weeks ago and a wound, associated with the collarbone injury, has not healed well. However, he has been having some laps in the Czech Republic this week and will be in England on Sunday to have an outing at Arlington prior to the meeting.

With Cam Woodward and Mikkel Michelsen back after their international meetings last Saturday, the Eagles can look forward with some confidence to Monday’s match, which as a 7.30pm start time.

King’s Lynn’s play-off challenge seems to have run out of steam. They have been badly hit by injuries and retirements and now the withdrawal from British racing of Andrzej Lebedevs, who at one time was an Eastbourne target. They also have Rory Schlein back – who for three weeks thought he had a broken leg only to be told that this not the case.
