Bridgeview Judo Club finished off the competition season with an excellent triple performance at the Class Masters Summer Invitation at Tunbridge Wells.
Eleanor Kearley put in one of her best ever performances, with a variety of techniques and a confident style. In the knockouts she won two bouts with maximum ippon scores, whilst losing two fights by minimum yuko scores.
She secured a bronze medal, but demonstrated that she is worth more and will soon be topping the rostrum. Meanwhile little sister Jocelyn Kearley put in a spirited effort in the under-eight year old mini mon group.
She brought home Bridgview’s second bronze medal of the day, learning a great deal from her losses but managing some convincing wins along the way.
The third medal came from young Finan Smith, who lost in the final of his category to win his first ever silver medal, as well as the Spirit of Judo award for his positive approach to every bout. This was a superb finale for the Bridgeview team as the holiday season approaches, and the coaching team can concentrate on a whole new batch of novice players.
