Uckfield awarded Harlequins grassroots development club of the year

The URFC contingent consisted of Robbie Cannon, Alan Sallows, Pete Reeves, Peter Jordon, Mike Cranfield and Martin Doyle all Club Directors as well as Bob Aldridge - girls co ordinate, Luke Austin senior player and 2nd team manager and committee members Gordon Buckland and James Brown.

URFC were awarded Harlequins grassroots development club of the year last week at a dinner at Harlequins and it was presented by coach Conor O’Shea.

On Wednesday May 21 10 members from all areas of Uckfield Rugby Club made the trip Harlequins RFC for their first ever community awards.

Uckfield were shortlisted to the top five from over 130 clubs who are affiliated to Harlequins for the grass roots rugby development club of the year award.

Chairman Martin Doyle said: “We were delighted to be nominated but didn’t expect to win and when our name was read out our table erupted.”
