UCKFIELD gymnasts had a fantastic weekend at last month’s South East Grades Championships – as individuals and as a club.
The girls competed with great determination and style to win the overall Disley Cup, being presented for the first time to the most successful club at the Grades Championships. Points where awarded for the top six places and as they placed in the top spot in most of the grades, Uckfield became CHAMPIONS! Individual results were as follows:
Grade 13 (age 8/9). 3rd: Megan Hassall; 4th Freya Collard; 6th: Sofia Davis. Grade 13 (age 9/10). 2: Aeryn Perkins; 3: Amy Cowley; 5: Evie Kickham. Grade 10 (age 12). 3: Molly Sanderson; 4: Niamh Andrews. Grade 9 (age 12): 1: Natasha King (Champion); 3: Bethany Winter. Grade 8 (age 9/10). 3: Sophie Gunn (qualified for National Finals); 5: Parris Bryan (reserve for National Finals). Grade 6 (age 13/14). 4: Hannah Dunsmore (qualified for National Finals). Grade 5 (age 12/15). 1: Connie Pooley (Champion – qualified for National Finals); 2: Imogen Blythe (Qualified for National Finals). Compulsory 4 (age 8). 2: Erifilly Hionos (qualified for National Finals).
Well done to all the gymnasts who also passed their grade: Georgie Moors, Sophie Down, Alicia Blythe, Kira Nichols, Katrina Hazelden, Ria Sanderson, Libby Ralph, Sophie Coats and Maisie Ward.
