The tenth Eastbourne half marathon was held on Sunday.
This has now become a popular event with over 1,300 finishers including a strong turn out from Uckfield runners with 18 entrants.
The route starts from Princes Park then follows the Seafront west with the only hill being a steep climb from 2.5 to 3.5 miles as the route heads towards Beachy Head before a steep descent back to the seafront.
The route then heads back East, past Princes Park, around the Sovereign Harbour and back to Princess park to finish. Whilst the weather was dry it was windy which was particularly noticeable for the last 2 miles with a strong headwind.

The Tunbridge Wells half marathon was also on Sunday and Sonia Edmondson from Uckfield Runners ran 1hr 55. A bit further afield in Bruges, Tanya Edmondson ran 1hr 21 and Ray Edmondson 1hr 56 in a 10 mile race. Finally on Saturday Lorraine West from the Monday beginner/joggers group ran her 5th Personal best in a row in the Eastbourne Parkrun running a time of 40.58 reducing her previous best time by a minute and a half. www.uckfieldrunners.org.uk
