Simon Wormull said he hoped his Lewes side would be able to “get at” a talented but troubled Hampton & Richmond Borough outfit tomorrow (KO 3.30pm).
Hampton FC’s own website described the club as suffering ‘misery’ due to a ‘dramatic loss of form’. Their 1-0 Boxing Day defeat to lowly Carshalton Athletic on Boxing Day was described as a display that “disappointed many fans and no doubt the management as well.”
Since defeating Whitehawk in October, the Beavers have garnered only eight points from a possible 33 and have dropped from first in the table to 10th.
However, all eight of those points were picked up away from their own Beveree ground. And a battling 10-man Beavers side picked up a decent point in a 0-0 draw away at Kingstonian on New Year’s Day.
Wormull said: “It will be a tough game for us.
“They’ve been one of the best side’s we’ve played this year, although they’re under a lot of pressure at the moment. It gives us the chance to get at them.”
Wormull said Lewis Hamilton would hopefully be back following a chest infection.
