Peacehaven get the better of Seaford yet again in the cup

PEACEHAVEN maintained their winning run against Seaford with a narrow 2-1 away win to dump their neighbours out of the Brighton Charity Cup.

This was the fourth time the sides have met in the last two seasons, and each match has gone Peacehaven's way.

In a rather more low key affair than last season's epic Division Two Cup final, Peacehaven started the better and after a series of chances took the lead when Ben Wheatland shot past Sheldon Levett.

The hosts improved at the start of the second half but were caught on the break when Rob O'Toole's cross was headed in by Dan Smith to make it 2-0.

Seaford were handed a lifeline when Ben Logan was bundled over for a penalty which Matt Jones duly converted. Ben Logan headed the hosts' best chance to level over as The Tye progressed into round 2.
