Peacehaven close the gap with Selsey stroll
PEACEHAVEN closed to within six points of the top of the table with a comfortable 4-2 home victory over Selsey.
It wasn't a match which will live long in the memory, but it produced the desired result for Pete Edwards' side.
Ahead of another predicted cold snap Piddinghoe Avenue saw some much needed sunshine on Saturday. Edwards sent out a side minus top scorer Craig Bunch, absent due to ill health.
Peacehaven gradually got to grips with the match, and took the lead just before the half hour mark. An real scramble in the box ended with Dan Smith poking home.
Peacehaven were struggling to create chances, but were presented with a gift for their second goal.
Greg Robinson's back pass was woefully under hit, allowing Roy Pook to nip in and score.
Callum Saunders and Burton strikes sandwhiched a Selsey goal, and even though they found the net again in stoppage time Peacehaven ran out comfortable winners.
