Peacehaven set up exciting Bognor clash
PEACEHAVEN will face Bognor Regis in the quarter final of the Sussex Senior Cup after a comfortable 2-0 victory at Pagham.
It took a long time to make the breakthrough but a powerful second half performance continued the Tye's outstanding cup form.
It was the first of a run of four huge games for Pete Edwards' side, culminating in next week's cup semi-final against Redhill.
The first half was pretty much a non event, with neither side creating any significant openings. Peacehaven had the better of the play, but failed to put the home defence under any real pressure.
With both wingers pushed further forward in the second half they started to pin Pagham back.
The breakthrough came when Tom Button met Clive Snell's corner at the near post with a powerful header.
Pagham were then forced to push forward, and were inevitably caught on the break. Wes Hallett was stranded outside his area, and could do nothing to stop Andy Wilkinson's clever chip wrapping up the win for Peaceaven.
