Rooks continue to strengthen
LEWES manager Steve Ibbitson continued to strenthen his squad this week with the signing of defender Marc Pullen from near neighbours Eastbourne Borough.
The former Crawley Town defender agreed to join the Rooks after being released from the Blue Square Premier outfit down the A27 at Priory Lane.
The 36-year-old joined Eastbourne Borough from Worthing in 2006 and played a total of 210 games for the Sports, scoring two goals for Garry Wilson's side.
Meanwhile, Ibbitson has also recruited ex-Brighton & Hove Albion Youth captain Sonny Cobbs for the 2010/11 campaign.
Cobbs was part of the Albion U18 side that reached the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup in 2006. He signed a one-year professional deal in the summer of 2007 but was released the following year without making a first-team appearance.
The left back joins the Rooks from Sutton United, having made 53 appearances and scored seven goals.
He also has experience of playing in midfield with Sutton and Welling United, and has been described as offering "strength, commitment and a competitive temperament".
Meanwhile, Lewes Ladies FC have named their replacement for former manager Jacquie Agnew.
Former Rook Michelle Mangan has played in the Women's Premier League and spent the last two seasons as Manager of Horley Town.
Mangan is familiar with the Dripping Pan set-up and said she was looking forward to testing herself at a higher level.
Lewes Ladies' pre-season begins on Wednesday June 23 and is open to new players. If you wish to be part of a successful and progressive club, call Director of Football Ron Moore on 01273 474345 or Michelle Mangan on 07768 102299 for an informal chat.
