Rottingdean, Plumpton through to next round of National Village Cup

Despite being located east of Brighton they were made to compete in the West Sussex division but big scores from Ledden brothers George (141) and Henry (82) saw them safely through to the next round.

Plumpton beat Hellingly in the only game to take place in the East Sussex Division.

EAST SUSSEX REGION

June 3: Plumpton & EC 164 (39.2 ov; Tom Freeman 32, Chris Spiller 32; Gavin Sutherland 5-30) won by 19 runs at home to Hellingly 145 (38 ov; Ashley Crocombe 54; Calum Smith 5-32, Paul Edmunds 3-20). June 10: Newick v Isfield, at King George V Playing Field, 1pm.

WEST SUSSEX REGION

June 3: Poynings 120 (35.4 ov; Ashley Smith 29; Mickey Demetriou 4-26) lost by 9 wickets at home to Findon 124-1 (13 ov; Bradley Bridson 85*; Leigh Latham 1-26).

Rottingdean 266-4 (40 ov; Henry Ledden 82, 10 fours, one six, George Ledden 141, 14 fours, eight sixes; Ben Hansford 2-48) won by 12 runs at home to Middleton 254-9 (40 ov; Ed Towner 55, Luke Hansford 57, Brandon Hanley 46; Sam Shepherd 3-32).
