Stringers 'always planing to advertise post'

HAILSHAM Town are on the hunt for their third manager in two months after interim boss Ross Scamardella took his name out of the hat for the permanent job.

According to the club, Scamardella, who only took over from the sacked former boss Kenny McCreadie at the end of the season, has cited work commitments for ruling himself out of the running.

Scamardella seemed to be preparing for next season as manager, although the club say they were always planning to advertise the position.

Stringers secretary Sue Williams said, "The statement issued when Kenny stepped down indicated Ross would hold the position until the end of the season. If Ross had wanted to apply he would have been able to, but he has contacted us to say he is unable to due to work commitments."

Highlighting the positives of the position she continued, "It has always been said that any manager at this club has the full backing of the committee and most of the time is left to manage the football which is what they are there for.

"We have had a few enquires during Ross's time but we obviously wanted to put it out there for anybody who may be interested."

Those interested in the post are asked to contact Sue on 07719590268 or 832278 by May 30.
