Sussex at home to Worcestershire

LV=County Championship action returns to The PROBIZ County Ground, Hove for the first time since May today (August 1) as Sussex begin their clash with Worcestershire (11am start).

Sussex leapfrogged Middlesex into fourth place in the Division One table yesterday following their draw with Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge, and lie only ten points shy now of Somerset in third place.

Worcestershire currently occupy second from bottom spot in the standings although they have played fewer games than every other side.

Chris Nash’s superb 162 helped ensure Sussex’s draw with Nottinghamshire on the final day whilst Ed Joyce also hit 98, and Luke Wells hit half-centuries in both innings of the match. Joyce will captain the side following Michael Yardy’s decision to step down in four-day and 40-over cricket, with the squad for the match unchanged.

The Sussex squad is as follows:

Amjad Khan

JE Anyon

BC Brown (wkt)

MW Goodwin

EC Joyce (c)

SJ Magoffin

CD Nash

MS Panesar

LWP Wells

KO Wernars

LJ Wright
