COMEDIAN and TV star Phill Jupitus performed for a full house at the Laughter Lounge in Uckfield earlier this month. Phill, well-known as a team captain on BBC Two’s pop music quiz Never Mind the Buzzcocks, acted as a hologram from the future there to answer questions from the audience about future events.

His visions included one about Kevin Markwick, owner of The Picture House, where the Laughter Lounge is based, forming his own religious cult based on the Carry On films.

Also taking turns on stage were regular comperes and Sussex-based comedians Dyball and Kerr; Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Thom Tuck and Caroline Mabey.

The Laughter Lounge comedy show which is held on the first Wednesday of every month was launched a year ago at The Picture House. It has an on-stage bar and the decor of a front room. Among performers at the Laughter Lounge on Wednesday, April 4, will be Lucy Porter, a familiar face from The Rob Brydon Show amd Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
