Parents, students, friends and governors were treated to a feast of musical talent at Bede’s Senior School, Upper Dicker, on Wednesday, November 13, in a Music Scholars Recital.

The event celebrated the tremendously high standard of playing and singing at the school.

The students performed a tremendous array of works from Bruch, Brahms, Mozart and Bonocini, either in the capacity as soloists or in ensembles.

Opening the evening Anna Moody gave a stunning performance of ‘Romanze’ by Bruch for viola and piano.

Violinists Ashley Meffen and Conor Woodridge performed well-known repertoire, ‘Schindler’s List’ and Brahm’s ‘Hungarian Dance’ respectively.

The evening finished with a beautiful rendition of Eva Cassidy’s ‘Autumn Leaves’ for harp and voice.

A capacity audience filled the Bede’s Recital Room and left feeling uplifted and ready to face the cool evening air outside after a most memorable occasion.
