Jazzing up Rye

Rye International Jazz Festival.

AUGUST 23 to 27 sees the launch of the first Rye International Jazz Festival. The festival website www.ryejazz.com has recently been launched and gives a wide range of information about this fantastic festival.

It has been confirmed that Clive Emson Land and Property Auctioneers is this year’s festival headline sponsor. The festival will feature an array of recognised UK and international talent performing at ticketed events. There will also be many free performances taking place at venues throughout Rye.

Headline acts include Anthony Strong with his trio at the George in Rye, legendary drummer Ginger Baker, from Cream who will be performing with his Jazz Confusion at Rye College and bass player Herbie Flowers and Mike Hatchard.

The programming mix also features a range of free street entertainment, acoustic sessions at the Butter Market and a Cuban Marching Band.
