Jan Allain launches her new album, Freedom’s Daughter, at The Brunswick Pub, Hove ,on Sunday, November 2 (doors 7.30pm, music 8pm).
She will showcase a collection of ballads and groove-based soul songs from her new and eighth album with a live album band featuring Liam Genockey – drums (Steeleye Span, Jon Martyn, Paul Brady) and Jennifer Maidman – bass and electric.
Jan enjoys a devoted cult following in Germany where she has toured extensively for nearly three decades.
Her impressive album sales, without a record deal, prompted Cooking Vinyl Records to release her sixth album, A Kind of Glory, in 2000.
Unhappy with the deal she left in 2002. She retained control of her best work, which she now releases in 2014 as Freedom’s Daughter.
