A double-bill of theatre pieces heralding seaside adventure and escapism sails out on tour, taking in Brighton’s The Old Market on April 29 (tickets 01273 201800).
The shows feature award-winning writer John Osborne, award-winning folk singer-songwriter Jim Moray and NME cover star and Art Brut lead singer Eddie Argos.
Spokesman Tom Searle said: “John Osborne performs his second solo show, On The Beach.
“Having spent the past twelve months visiting British seaside towns, John documents a lunchtime walk along one such beach, charting the lives, loves, hopes and nostalgia all found down on the beach.
“Amy Mason, Eddie Argos and Jim Moray collaborate together in a Bristol Old Vic commission to perform The Islanders.
In the late ’90s, teenage couple Amy and Eddie fled their bedsit haven of damp walls, smashed furniture and only-orange foods for a holiday on the Isle of Wight.
“Some 13 years on, they try to make sense of an island, a holiday and a much-forgotten relationship.
“The Islanders is an indie musical about memories, first-loves and growing up.”
