New City Kings will be donating a percentage of their gig fees to the Give A Gig campaign when they play Brighton’s latest music bar on October 5.

Give A Gig asks music fans, artists, venues and promoters to put on a gig to raise funds for the charity or donate proceeds from the gigs already planned. The money funds projects that use music to reach young people who face challenges in their lives, including coping with disability or living in care.

Current Brighton projects that Youth Music are providing funding for include Brighton & Hove City Council (Youth Offending Team), Rocking Horse Children’s Charity and Carousel’s Shut Up And Listen music programme.

Spokesman Warren Higgins said: “Since their formation, Essex-based alternative rock band New City Kings have been moving at an intense pace. With the band self-releasing their debut EP Change in February via their independent label BAM Records, they have attracted attention from fans and industry on both sides of the Atlantic.”
