A free-entry fun festival on Forest Row’s village green on Sunday, June 15, is set to help local theatre groups Pericles Theatre Company (West Hoathly) and Atelier Community Theatre (Forest Row) raise money for their production The Tale of The Pig.
The Tale of The Pig is directed by award-winning director Vasile Nedelcu, winner of best family show 2005 (Brighton Fringe). It is produced by graduate of the Berlin Chekhov Studio and Forest Row mum, Erika Blaxland-de Lange.
Erika says: “The Pericles Theatre Company is committed to helping adults with learning disabilities advance their social and artistic development. Pericles was founded by renowned local actress and humanitarian, Paulamaria Blaxland-de Lange and it includes the Pericles craft workshops, The Sharp Thorne Organic Café, the woodland projects at Plaw Hatch and Tablehurst farms and the Pericles Theatre Company.
“The Atelier Community Theatre was founded in 2010 by Vasile Nedelcu. Atelier has a professional theatre side and a community play side which meet, mingle and blend. Like the finest whiskey, it can’t be rushed- it’s all in the process.
“There will be live music, story-telling and craft workshops. This is the community launch for a crowd-funding campaign for the production- expect to see lots of people dressed as piggies on the day.”
The day runs from 10am to 10pm.
