Free trials at drama academy

Ariel Company Theatre is opening a new drama academy on Saturday, October 18, at Warden Park School, Haywards Heath.

Ariel has been recognised for its high standards, winning first place in the Best Performing Arts category of the KalliKids Awards.

The awards are voted for by parents and users of the KalliKids website to acknowledge the great businesses and providers of family and children services it represents.

The Haywards Heath Academy will be offering several free trials so that young people can come along, meet the Ariel team and experience a full afternoon of activity.

The first free open afternoon will be on Saturday, October 18, from 2pm to 5pm. No previous drama or dance experience is required and Ariel will welcome students aged between five and 19 years old.

Principal Ben Simpson will be leading the new academy and brings with him a wealth of knowledge, having trained at the London School of Musical Theatre. Ben is an experienced producer and actor whose credits include shows at the Theatre Royal Brighton, Chichester Festival Theatre, The National Theatre and The Royal College of Music.

Ariel founder Nicci Hopson said: “We are delighted to be opening the new Haywards Heath Academy. The Burgess Hill Academy has had a waiting list for some time and we have seen the demand grow for a separate Haywards Heath school.”
