Fringe offers fun for children and families

Hijack Family Fringe offers a curated programme of shows and events especially for children aged two-12 and their families, taking place at Komedia and elsewhere in the city of Brighton (May 25-June 2).

Georgia Barrington said: “Dukes @ Komedia will be hosting Hijack Film, showing the beautiful and rarely-seen animation Kirikou and The Sorceress by Michel Ocelot, a story drawn from intricate West African folktales, on Tuesday, May 28.

“The renowned British-American fantasy film Labyrinth, starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly. will also be screened on Thursday, May 29. Two filmic events not to be missed.

“Hijacking Comedy, Britain’s premier improvisation troupe The Noise Next Door will perform a double-whammy of sensational family friendly fun on May 25 and 26.

“Audiences and critics alike have celebrated the guys in ties with their explosive physicality and ludicrous characters at Edinburgh Fringe, The Southbank Festival, London’s prestigious Battersea Arts Centre as well as appearing with CBBC’s Ian Stirling, Little Howard and Harry Hill.

“In the midst of the festival, falls a very exciting event Hijack Tech, an unusual opportunity for children to spend the afternoon exploring technology, from all angles! From rocket-making, laser and UV torch building, to robot wars, crazy machines and creating your own animated avatar! Technology specialists give children the chance to take over Komedia in a series of fantastic hands-on workshops.”
