Ghostly events in Coward’s play

Following their production of The Diary of Anne Frank and their November double-bill, The Synergy Theatre is returning to The Clinton Centre in Seaford with Noël Coward’s Blithe Spirit.

Spokeswoman Eva Tayler said: “As the play opens, we meet Charles and Ruth Condomine preparing for a dinner party. Charles, a novelist, is researching his latest book and has invited the local medium, Madame Arcati, to hold a séance in their home.

“The Condomines think that Madame Arcati is the best kind of eccentric and fully expect to have a jolly evening watching her performance! What they haven’t reckoned on is Madame Arcati actually being able to summon ghosts – especially not the ghost of Charles’ late first wife, the deliciously-sensuous and insanely-jealous Elvira! Blithe Spirit is perhaps best known for the wonderful film version starring Margaret Rutherford as Madame Arcati.”

Blithe Spirit runs from Tuesday-Saturday, February 11–15 at 7.30pm. The Clinton Centre, Clinton Place, Seaford,

Tickets, £10/£8 concessions, are available on 01273 301444, from Newberry Tully Estates, by email on boxoffice@thesynergytheatre.co.uk or through www.thesynergytheatre.co.uk.
