Instruments blend in expressive work

Sussex cellist Pavlos Cavalho and violinist Miriam Teppich will be performing at Clair Hall in Haywards Heath on Saturday, October 11, from 7.30pm, accompanied by the Mid Sussex Sinfonia.

Spokeswoman Diana Davy said: “They will be duetting in the Double concerto for violin and cello by Johannes Brahms, a richly expressive work in which the two instruments blend seamlessly.

“The concert will end with Bizet’s youthful symphony – a confection of attractive tunes, characterised by typical Gallic finesse and élan – and will open with an overture by Beethoven.

“Pavlos and Miriam are both members of Ensemble Reza – a group of inspiring, young virtuoso professionals.”

Miriam is a member of London Mozart Players and has been invited to play as guest principal with a number of major orchestras in the UK, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Mozart Players, the Philharmonia Orchestra, Orchestra of English National Opera, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

Pavlos studied at the Royal College of Music where he graduated with distinction in both advanced solo and chamber music diplomas.

He has performed as a solo and chamber musician in venues including Cadogan Hall and the Teatro dal Verme, Milan. As a soloist he has performed at music festivals both at home and abroad, including an annual performance of the six Bach Suites in the Brighton Festival.

Diana added: “Mid Sussex Sinfonia, a successful local orchestra, are in their 43rd season and are thoroughly looking forward to bringing this wonderful piece of music to life with Pavlos and Miriam.”
