Expect mind-boggling tricks, witty banter and laughs aplenty at the July 10 show at Worthing’s Matt’s Comedy Club at the Connaught Studio, part of the 2014 Worthing Comedy Festival.

Organiser Russ Bravo said: “The town’s family-friendly comedy club has another cracking line-up for the first of two July gigs.

“Headline act is the extraordinary comedy magician John Archer, star of ITV’s Fool Penn & Teller in 2011. Always a popular draw, John has been carving a strong position in the comedy magic genre over many years, including a prized commendation from Derren Brown who booked him for a family celebration.

“The former Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year has also worked closely with Tim Vine over the years, and Vine fans will know him well as Flag Hippo from the punmeister’s daft live shows. As if that wasn’t commendation enough, he’s also an actor, writer and skilled ukulele player.

“Support comes from the excellent Juliet Meyers, gaining a growing reputation on the comedy circuit and a regular BBC writer for shows like Mock The Week and The Sarah Millican Television Show.”

MC club host Russ will also be introducing a number of up-and-coming local acts. Tickets are £9 or £7 concessions. Doors open 7.15pm for an 8pm start. Buy at www.worthingtheatres.co.uk or town centre outlets: Parklife, Music Mania, Sticky Drawers, and The Lazy Brunch. Further information is available on 077200 40456 or 01902 218026.
