The London Philharmonic Orchestra returns to Brighton for its 2013/14 season.
Spokeswoman Libby Northcote-Green said: “This year we’re delighted to be working with internationally-renowned conductors once again, including Newcomer of the Year at the International Opera Awards 2013, Daniele Rustioni on Saturday, November 9, and principal conductor of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Vasily Petrenko on Saturday, February 22.
“We’re performing some of the best-loved works in the repertoire and showcasing outstanding soloists including Michael Roll who performs Beethoven’s delicate Piano Concerto No. 4 on Saturday, November 30.
“The brilliant virtuoso Liza Ferschtman plays Bruch’s spectacular Violin Concerto No. 1 on Saturday, March 22.”
The season starts on Saturday, November 9, at 7.30pm at Brighton Dome when the programme will be: Dvořák – Cello Concerto; Rossini – Overture, William Tell; and Mendelssohn Symphony – No. 4 (Italian).
“BBC New Generation Artist Leonard Elschenbroich, who recently performed at the BBC Proms, performs Dvořák’s Cello Concerto, influenced by American folk music.”
