Shakespeare comedy set in ’50s Brighton

Much Ado About Nothing
Much Ado About Nothing

The Barefoot Players Present Much Ado About Nothing with a difference – it’s set in a diner in 1950s Brighton.

Set against the backdrop of the Messina Diner, Brighton, in the midst of the 1950s, young lovers Hero and Claudio are getting ready to be married.

To pass the time until their happy hour, they conspire to set a “lover’s trap” for Benedick, an arrogant bachelor, and Beatrice, his favourite sparring partner.

Meanwhile, the sly Dona Joanne conspires to break up the wedding by evil slander.

It’s a tale of love and lies, but will it all turn out to be much ado about nothing?

The audience will be sitting in ‘the diner’, and are welcome, if they choose, to give their 1950s vintage clothes an outing.
