Celebrated folk-inspired singer-songwriter and virtuoso fiddler Seth Lakeman presents tracks from his latest album Tales from the Barrel House during an intimate evening at Worthing’s Connaught Theatre (Wednesday, May 22, 8pm).
Tales from the Barrel House combines foot-stomping, sing-along songs and tender, thoughtful ballads. It features his trademark fiddle and tenor guitar playing as well as soaring vocals.
The album was released last year. Seth wrote, sang and played all the instruments as well as recording and mixing every track. The self-contained recording was intended to mirror the style of his Kitty Jay album which won him a Mercury Music Prize nomination in 2005.
Seth began his career early, performing in Devon with his parents and two brothers. Later, the three brothers formed Equation with Kate Rusby and Kathryn Roberts. After recording and touring the world with the band, Seth left Equation in 2001 to pursue his solo work. Box office: 01903 206 206 or online at www.worthingtheatres.co.uk.
